Regional Arts Australia launches 2025 Industry Residencies Pilot Program

Regional Arts Australia is proud to announce that the 2025 Industry Residencies Pilot Program is now underway, with two fully funded, 12-month residencies appointed for regional Creative Practitioners.

The program is designed to spark collaboration between the arts and other sectors. It creates space for Creative Practitioners, including artists, designers, arts workers and others working in the creative industries, to explore, experiment, and respond to real-world challenges within specific regional industries.

“This program recognises the essential role that creative thinking plays in shaping the future of regional Australia,” said Ros Abercrombie, Executive Director of Regional Arts Australia. “When artists work alongside industry, they bring new perspectives that inspire solutions, reimagine systems, and deepen our collective understanding of place and sustainability.”

Grounded in place and shaped by strong community connections, the residencies bring together Creative Practitioners, Arts Organisations and industry partners to co-develop creative responses to industry-specific concerns. Through this cross-sector model, the program fosters collaboration, community engagement and innovative thinking, particularly in the areas of sustainability and liveability. It also highlights the vital role of creativity in shaping resilient and vibrant regional futures.
