2015 fellowships

The National Regional Arts Fellowship program is a one-off round as part of the Regional Arts Fund.

The Fellowships Program is an investment in the development of artistic and creative practice. The program is contemporary, flexible and relevant to artists practicing, working and living in regional, rural and remote Australia. It is designed as an applicant-led approach, addressing the needs of the individual in that time and place; offering a guaranteed income (for a short period) for an artist/ practitioner to develop their work, skills and networks or research.

The fellowships value best practice, build connection, generate exchange and strengthen that national network of regional artists and communities.

In 2015-6 Regional Arts Australia delivered a highly successful Regional Arts Development (RAD) fellowships program. The RAD Fellowships were an initiative of the Ministry for the Arts. This successful program resulted in five regional arts practitioners being supported to advance their careers, through financial and institutional support. Recipients were selected through a competitive grant round process, each category had its own assessment criteria, as well as four overall criteria and were assessed by an independent panel. The artists who received fellowships were established artists, with a track record of achievement. The nature of the fellowship was to take what the artists had already achieved and elevate their career to the next level.
