EOIs now open for Practice in Community

Regional Arts Australia is inviting EOIs for Practice in Community - a new national program supporting regional artists working in Community Arts and Cultural Development (CACD).

This program invests $160,000 over two years in independent artists working in regional, rural and remote Australia to lead creative projects that build trust, belonging and long-term community impact.

Across two rounds, 11 artists will be supported:
• Cohort 1: 5 artists starting in 2026
• Cohort 2: 6 artists starting in 2027

EOIs are open now until Friday 14 November 2025.

Practice In Community is designed and delivered by Regional Arts Australia, supported by Minderoo Foundation.

Practice in Community is grounded in the belief that artists are essential to social change and to the thriving of regional communities. It supports the deep, relational work that builds trust, belonging and long-term community impact.

This national program puts creativity at the heart of community life by investing in independent artists working in Community Arts and Cultural Development (CACD). It gives regional artists the time, trust, and support to grow their practice, lead meaningful projects, build connections, share knowledge and strengthen a national network of artists driving social impact.

Artists interested in applying are invited to join one of Regional Arts Australia’s online Information Sessions to learn more about Practice In Community. These friendly sessions walk through the application process, eligibility, and what the program is looking for, with time to ask questions and connect with others. There are four sessions to choose from across two days, catering to all time zones. AUSLAN interpretation and auto-captions will be available, and recordings will be shared afterwards.
