Katie Breckon is an artist, educator and community arts and heritage worker who lives between Warrwa and Nyikina territories in the Kimberley, northwest Australia. Breckon works across printmaking, two and three-dimensional drawing, analogue and digital photography. Breckon's research and artistic practice examines identity and connection to place, drawing from personal experiences and broader community stories of shared intercultural histories. Breckon's community arts and heritage projects include establishing Dolord Mindi, a collection and media space at Mowanjum Art and Culture Centre, and co-curating the Mowanjum Museum, which opened to the public in April 2021.
