Jessica Djerrkura / Director
Jess Djerrkura is a strategic planning and communications specialist, with experience in stakeholder management and community development across the not-for-profit and government sectors. Jess lives and works on Yolŋu land, currently for the Department of the Chief Minister and Cabinet's East Arnhem office assisting in the delivery of priority NT Government initiatives including Local Decision Making, socio-economic development, local government and local authority support, and whole of government coordination.
Jess has worked extensively across tourism, major events, arts and the creative industries, with a focus on arts and tourism development, project management and executing comprehensive programs and campaigns. Having grown up in regional NSW, she is passionate about the important role arts and culture plays in developing strong and vibrant communities and the unique opportunities and challenges that exist to grow and build creative economies in regional Australia.
Jess has worked with artists in a range of disciplines including performing arts, visual art, theatre, contemporary dance, comedy and music. She has held management positions at preeminent arts organisations such as Bangarra Dance Theatre, Sydney Opera House, Sydney Festival and the Adelaide Festival.
