Project: International Mentorship and co-writing opportunity for Musical Artist/Disability Advocate Eliza Hull
Eliza Hull is embarking on a journey to the United Kingdom to receive mentorship from two esteemed organisations: Outlyer and Attitude is Everything. Outlyer is revolutionising perceptions of disability by promoting authentic representation within the film, music, and TV industries. Attitude is Everything serves as the UK's leading advocate, aiding live music venues in becoming more accessible for both artists and audiences with disabilities. During her stay in the UK, Eliza will actively participate in mentoring and co-writing sessions with British artists with disabilities such as Tim Gordine, Jenna Kearns, and Ruth Lyon. This collaborative effort promises to foster creativity and mutual learning. Upon her return, Eliza plans to leverage her newfound networks, connections, and collaborations, sharing them with her fellow Australian musicians with disabilities and relevant peak bodies. This exchange of knowledge and experiences will undoubtedly enrich the Australian music scene, making it more inclusive.
In recent years Eliza's profile as a musician and advocate for disabled musicians has risen exponentially in Australia and internationally. Highlights include performing on ABC's Q&A and on Studio 10, and performing and speaking at SXSW Sydney, BIGSOUND, The Women in Music Awards and live on the BBC and ABC. Hull recently toured through the U.K. across five weeks, including The Great Escape Festival. An award-winning artist (Music Victoria Awards, AWME Women in Music Award), Eliza has been drawing a loyal fan base across the country; notable shows at venues and events including the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Festival, Ability Fest, NYE On the Hill, Hamer Hall, and the Melbourne Recital Centre. Her music has been featured in TV internationally in shows Awkward, Teen Wolf, Saving Hope and in Australia on The Heights. She is currently writing music for a feature film set for release in 2025.
