A word from Ros about the workshop:
'As we listen, observe, and engage with conversations around practice, place, and creativity, we are reminded to broaden our perspectives and challenge our ways of thinking. We must continuously question the tools and methods we bring to these dialogues and gatherings, always learning and adapting to a rapidly changing world. Our goal is to co-exist and co-create, developing 'third spaces' that respond meaningfully to both time and place.
I believe in maintaining a strong connection between academic thought and practical application. Cross-disciplinary approaches are key to deepening discussions and pushing conversations forward. There is immense potential for continuous learning, advocacy, reciprocity, and creativity.
The relationships between the social and cultural, the ideological and political, and the environmental and geographical are vital. The interplay between people and place is dynamic and multi-faceted, creating layers of meaning that evolve over time.
At Regional Arts Australia, we are particularly interested in how programs evolve - what drives their changes or keeps them consistent, how design and programming decisions are made, and what is included or left out. How can we generate and facilitate meaning both individually and collectively?'
