Sarah Therese Anderson / Regional Scribe
New South Wales/ Wiradjuri Country
I am a writer and poet currently based on Wiradjuri country in Dubbo, Central West NSW, with my chihuahua and a house plant I've been struggling to keep alive. I've studied writing and publishing at the University of Newcastle and I'm currently working on developing my own artistic practice as a writer, exploring different mediums, sources of inspiration, and ways of structuring and building my work.
I grew up in and went to school in Dubbo, and I've lived in regional Australia for most of my life. I've been writing for as long as I can remember, and over the past few years I've become much more dedicated to my writing, and exploring writing as a profession. In my work, I love exploring themes of loneliness from the personal to the societal across fiction, poetry, and (sometimes!) nonfiction. I'm drawn to strange, unreliable characters, offbeat weirdos and messy, unlikeable women.
At the moment, my projects include some short stories about aliens, as well as a novel. I'm massively honoured and excited to be a part of Regional Scribes, and going forward I'm looking forward to further developing professionally as a writer and seeking publication for my work.
