Sandi Woo / Artlands 2023
Sandi Woo is creative producer, community development facilitator, and movement teaching artist with nearly 30 years experience. Sandi has worked in the arts industry both as a freelancer and with established organisations in WA, NSW and Queensland.
She has worked with organisations such as: Australia Council for the Arts (Community, Dance and Youth/Education), Performing Lines, Marrugeku, Theatre Kimberley, Backbone Youth Arts, Lutheran Services, Phluxus2 Dance Collective, Steps Youth Dance Company. Ausdance Qld, Ausdance National, QUT and Sounds Across Oceans.
Her experience working with both independent artists and small-to-medium organisations gives her a broad understanding of the processes, protocols and industry standards across the sector. She is committed to providing greater visibility of, and value to the independent artist landscape in Australia by developing opportunities for diverse storytelling and creative experiences.
Sandi’s self-driven arts practice exists at the intersection of contemporary dance, creative practice and community engagement. She applies her collaborative and community engagement strategies when working closely with colleagues, artists and stakeholders – whether as a producer or an artist. Through her experiences in both metropolitan and regional communities, Sandi has witnessed first-hand how collaborative practices, developed through community development projects and applied CACD philosophies make a difference to people’s lives and the regions in which they live and work.
Sandi is currently the Executive Producer at Contemporary Asian Australian Performance. She works between the lands of the Gadigal People (Sydney) and the Worimi People (Port Stephens area).
