Lila Meleisea / Artlands 2023

Lila Meleisea is a Tasmanian Samoan interdisciplinary artist and educator. She lives with her two daughters and partner in the small coastal town of Beaumaris on North East lutruwita/Tasmania. She is well known in her community where she has worked for the past 20 years in the realms of teaching, music, and community arts. Her arts practice is grounded in both Indigenous ways of being and ancient eastern philosophy and wisdom. Lila is currently working on a major multi-disciplinary work, sa/moa, strengthening her connection to Samoa, as she continues an ongoing enquiry into her visual ‘Resonance Mapping’ methodology.
