Görkem Acaroğlu / Artlands 2023

Dr Görkem (Gerkam) Acaroğlu is a Turkish Australian theatre director, interdisciplinary artist, programmer, producer and theatre scholar. Over the past 25 years she has created over 60 productions including documentary and digital performance, live art, traditional text based theatre, new writing, immersive and site specific performance as well as community engaged work. Her company, Metanoia Theatre, programmed and managed the Mechanics Institute in Brunswick Melbourne from 2013-2017, and now work regionally from the Macedon Ranges where she lives. Görkem teached performance at Deakin University and is a consultant with Diversity Arts Australia.
