Emma Read / Artlands 2023

I hold a Bachelor of Photography from JCU, and currently serve as the Western Queensland Arts Officer for CQUniversity in Winton. I deliver mobile visual arts experiences to remote outback communities, providing essential social interaction and mental health support. As an ink dot illustration artist I draw on my deep understanding of nature developed through my time growing up on cattle stations. Working with pigment fibre tip ink pens, I am one of only a handful of artists in the world who use this colouring technique, where illustrations are sharply realistic through highly detailed dots bringing my subjects to life.
