Chris Williams / Artlands 2023
Chris Williams is an artist and performer. His work is experimental, socially engaged and playful, often striving to engage a less art-exposed public through curious interventions in public spaces. He uses creative tactics to seek social engagement and participation, testing the presence of public and audiences in the process of making the work and the culminating outcomes.
Chris was been a member of pvi collective since its inception in 1998. pvi create cutting-edge tactical media artworks, developing socially engaged, politically driven digital projects for tech savvy audiences around the world.
Chris is currently Director of Arts at DADAA ltd and has led many of their regional projects across WA. From artistically directing three MarshArt festivals in the Kimberley region, heading up three towns in the highly successful FIVE project, to his current focus on Mullewa, a tiny town of some 600 people in Midwest WA. Chris seeks innovative and interactive approaches to arts and social cohesion.
Chris has a BA in English and Philosophy, with a focus on Performance (Murdoch University), and studied Visual Arts at Curtin University.
