CULTURAL PROTOCOLS AND SAFETY
At the Summit, it is our intention to create as much cultural safety as possible for all participants. Often, levels of cultural safety will be determined by ones own previous interactions with similar experiences. If we have been raised within the dominant culture, there will be many aspects that we don’t think twice about that may feel foreign and unfamiliar to others.
At the Summit, we are proud to be bringing forward activities that may not be familiar. We ask that you bring an open mind and a participatory heart to these activities. We will be starting the day with a grounding activity.
These protocols symbolise that we are not just bringing ourselves and our organisations together but also the country and communities that we are intrinsically connected to and have impacts upon.

The mornings conversations will be focused around systems change. We are so often reminded how diverse and extraordinary artistic practice is. To be effectively equipped for the advances and opportunities that will be part of our future, we need to be guided by systems change; First nations self-determination, place-informed initiatives, economic sustainability, diversifying engagement and connection. We question the need for innovative creative ecosystems, and to understand the challenges of systemic, core and purposive elements.

We will be catering for vegetarian/vegan diets but please let us know if you have any severe food restrictions.

After lunch, we will shift our thinking to look beyond the arts sector at agriculture, Circular Economy Transition and Tech economies. The time is right for the arts and creative industries to take a lead role in regional development, for the arts be been understood as essential in the make-up of future liveable regions.
3:30pm - 4pm: Afternoon Tea Break
4pm - 5:30pm: The Summit will wrap up with an in-room discussion around the opportunities to work collectively in cross sector partnerships and collaborations as critical to success of a creative, innovative, sustainable future.
