The Cad Factory: Mentor Partner
ABOUT THE CAD FACTORY
The Cad Factory is an artist-led organisation re-imagining the world through contemporary, experimental, and socially engaged art to enact a more inclusive, compassionate and sustainable world. We connect artists, communities, and cross-sector partners, advocating for the potential of the arts to make connections across society.
Over 20 years we have built a body of artistic work that is grounded in regional Australia, delivering complex, meaningful projects such as Wirramarri: Long Way from Home in Narrandera NSW and Shoulder to Shoulder in Pinnaroo SA. Through this work, we celebrate what makes regional places distinct, while connecting them to national and international conversations. By doing this we create a flow between regional and urban locations to better understand our connection to a shared world.
The Cad Factory has worked with over 1,400 artists, delivered over 120 artistic outcomes, given more than 220 workshops, presented more than 150 public talks, and supported over 300 developments, residencies, recordings, and consultations. Our work has reached over 240,000 people in person and more than two million people digitally.
In 2023, we launched the CASE Incubator Studio, a national hub for the development of socially engaged art and in November 2026, we will launch our new national strategy for socially engaged art, alongside a major publication commissioned by Routledge, the first philosophy towards socially engaged art practices.
