PERFORMING ARTS TOURING
Regional Arts Australia is actively involved in supporting state and national performing arts touring to and from rural, regional and remote Australian communities. At the national level, RAA plays an important role in liaising with presenters, producers and promoters, guided by a Regional and Remote Touring Advisory Group which comprises leading touring advocates from each jurisdiction in Australia.
Regional Arts Australia is a founding member of the Performing Arts Touring Alliance (PATA) and actively engages with the Australian Performing Arts Centres Association (APACA) in maximising regional community access to touring products.
In a changing touring landscape, performing arts touring in Australia has developed a rich and vibrant tapestry of opportunities for producers and presenters through state based showcases and other new national initiatives. RAA continues to play an active role by working at a national level through the Performing Arts Touring Alliance (PATA) to deliver advocacy and leadership for the sector. One of RAA’s primary objectives is to support touring in Australia. Accordingly, RAA will continue its support for an energetic touring network and the development of national policy that supports access and participation for rural, regional and remote artists in the national touring marketplace.
